Admission to Primary School
Starting School
In Shropshire, all admissions for children starting school are made through, and handled by, the Local Authority. Every parent must make an application to ensure their child is considered for a school place in Reception. Children are not automatically offered a place.
Applications need to be made to Shropshire Council either on-line, using the web-link below, or by telephoning an Admissions Adviser on 0345 678 9008.
If your child's date of birth is between 1st September 2017 and 31st August 2018, you will need to make an application for them to start school in September 2022 by 15th January 2022.
Transferring School
Applications for a transfer during the school year should be made directly to school using a 'Mid-term Application Form' (available from www.shropshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions or by contacting the school on 01691 656080). The school will only be able to offer your child a place if there is sufficient capacity within the child's year group.
The published admissions number for The Meadows Primary School is 38 children per year group.
