Teaching Assistants:

Important things to remember: (Please note, these may change on occasions).

Please make sure your child hands their 'Home-link Book' and 'Reading Journal' in everyday. Any messages should be recorded in the 'Home-link Book' and all reading should be recorded in the 'Reading Journal'. We encourage children to record their own reading with a brief summary of what they have read. Parents are also welcome to record in this book as well as the children.

Music lessons will be on a Monday afternoon, if children have an instrument this will need to be in school for the lesson. Regular practise at home should be encouraged.

PE: please make sure that children have their full P.E. kit in school ready for the lesson.

Please hand in all completed homework activities for the week or half term.

 Home learning Spring 2018

Spellings: please complete your spellings list in the booklet you have been provided with for the term. Please return this at the end of term.

Maths: Please complete your CLIC (Counting, Learn Its, Its Nothing New and Calculating) and a Learn Its sheets each evening. We are trying to reduce the amount of photocopying, so have created booklets to complete over a few weeks. Please let us know if you need a new booklet. Please remember the emphasis is on speed for the Learn Its and you need to complete them all in ninety seconds. However, you have five minutes for the CLIC sheet. Please remove your completed sheets from the booklet when handing your weekly homework in, so spare copies remain at home.

Reading: please read at least three times and record a summary of your reading each night, or complete a reading journal activity (in the front of the reading journal). Please remember to fill in your reading journal as we are currently monitoring who has read each day to ensure all children read

Topic: this half term we are going to be learning about Wroxeter Roman City through our topic lessons. We would like you to complete further research at home about the site using:

Each week, try to find out a little more about the site. You could create a recount of your trip, a poster, model of the site, sketches and information about the features there, or anything linked to the Roman era. All completed projects will be displayed in school for others to access and enjoy.

Below are some ideas you can include in your project.

  • Where is Wroxeter?
  • When was it built?
  • What are the features of the City?
  • What is the significance of Wroxeter?

Aim to research one of the areas from the list above each week.
