OUR CURRICULUM

A UNIQUE AND CREATIVE CURRICULUM

Underpinning our Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum are the above areas of learning and development (see picture).

Three areas are particularly important for building a foundation for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, forming relationships and thriving. These are the prime areas:

We believe at The Meadows, that if we give all our children a strong foundation in these Prime Areas of Learning, they will be equipped to be effective learners, not only in EYFS, but also throughout their educational journey through primary school and beyond.

We have used the above Educational Programmes to create our curriculum that is rich and engaging.

From Monday-Thursday we have a topics based approach to learning with a 'Literacy Input' and 'Maths Input' taught every day.  There are some topics which reappear every year and through these 'static' topics we have ensured that we have complete coverage of the educational programmes for all 7 areas of learning and development taken from the, 'Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.'
