Every October half term, we set reading challenges for the children to complete with their parents. The reading challenges are:
Who can read the most over half term?
Who can read in the strangest place?
Who can read in a library?
Who can read in a book shop?
Parents upload photos onto Tapestry and each entry earns children a 'Lucky Ducky' ticket. At the end of the first week back, all names who have entered are put into a hat and the lucky winner wins a book prize. There is a book prize for each category.
These challenges have been extremely popular over the years and we've had photos of children reading in gliders, in front of a windmill in Amsterdam and even sitting on a tractor!
